Job Title: Reverse Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Reverse Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a Reverse Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing and understanding complex systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing proof-of-concept capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reverse engineer embedded systems to identify vulnerabilities and develop exploits
  • Develop and implement proof-of-concept capabilities to demonstrate potential threats
  • Collaborate with a team of experts to share knowledge and best practices
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and proposals for internal and external funding opportunities
  • Communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in software and hardware reverse engineering
  • Proficiency in software debuggers and static analysis tools
  • Experience with assembly and Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret level security clearance and ultimately obtain TS/SCI+poly level clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in reverse engineering and vulnerability research
  • Knowledge of advanced vulnerability discovery tools and embedded systems development toolchains
  • Experience with hardware debugging interfaces, code security mechanisms, and signal/protocol analysis
