As a Produce Order Writer at Whole Foods Market, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers have access to the freshest produce possible. This position requires a strong understanding of produce products, including production, distribution, and seasonal availability.

Responsibilities:

  • Purchase and replenish produce through proper buying procedures, maximizing sales potential through effective merchandising strategies.">
  • Monitor and act upon open PO reports for purchases and credits, controlling spoilage and shrink while achieving turn goals.">
  • Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required, analyzing and controlling product transfers, waste, and spoilage.">
  • Support leadership in conducting inventories, maintaining financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets.">
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing needs in a timely and effective manner, modeling suggestive selling techniques.">
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment, adhering to WFM cleanliness and safety standards.">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • 12+ months retail experience, with extensive knowledge of produce products, nutritional information, and related merchandising expectations.">
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong work ethic and willingness to adapt to changing priorities.">
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage relationships with team members, customers, and vendors.">
  • Familiarity with computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as ordering systems.">
