We are seeking a skilled Clinical Support Partner to join our team at Intermountain Healthcare. As a Clinical Support Partner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic patient care, including toileting, bathing, linen and clothing changes, fresh water and ice, ambulating, comfort measures, and other patient needs.
- Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
- Provide excellent customer service when responding to patient and family requests.
- Report and record patient care findings and data in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Perform non-nursing duties as delegated, including cleaning, stocking, answering phones, and clerical support.
- Implement the plan of care as delegated.
- Foster a safe environment by complying with safety policies and taking appropriate action in an emergency.
- Maintain patient safety by constant surveillance of assigned areas, visual safety rounds as ordered, room checks, and inventory of patient belongings.
- Provide a safe, consistent, and supportive environment by following established interventions and treatment plans.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure patient safety, appropriate management of individual patient behavior, and overall milieu management.
- Provide direct observation of acutely unsafe patients in collaboration with the treatment team and charge nurse.
- Anticipate and diffuse patient behaviors that have the likelihood to lead to out of control behaviors.
- Respond calmly and safely to escalating behaviors, ask for assistance as needed, and respond with a team-based approach.
- Current CNA Certification (or equivalent) for Patient Care Tech role.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- CNA experience or applicable healthcare experience.
- Current enrollment in nursing school.
- Basic computer skills.
- Post high school education in social work, psychology, sociology, family studies, or a health sciences field.
- Experience working with behavioral health and/or chemically dependent patients.
- Experience providing behavioral healthcare services to child/adolescent patient populations.
The Clinical Support Partner will be required to:
- See and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Interact with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require verbal communication as well as hearing and understanding spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
- Walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
