Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Sonographer to join our team at UW Health Clinics. As a Vascular Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing professional-level assessments and non-invasive studies using ultrasound and related diagnostic technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently perform vascular ultrasound exams and interpret results to direct patient care.
  • Evaluate complex disease states using state-of-the-art equipment in arterial and venous testing.
  • Participate in daily maintenance and care of equipment, including stationary and portable units.
  • Communicate preliminary impressions of examination results to referring physicians and provide daily contact with professionals and families.
  • Solve problems related to patient needs, department, and clinic with professional standards on documentation of care and timeliness.
  • Clinical instructor for the UW School of Ultrasound and participate in the instruction of fellows, residents, and visiting physicians.
  • May participate in clinical research.
Requirements
  • Minimum one year vascular imaging experience required.
  • Must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
  • Prior traveler experience highly preferred.
Schedule Information

Full performance Vascular Sonographer with the ability to perform examinations in both clinic and hospital settings. May have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.

Unit Specific Information

Travelers will be the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience. During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete the contract.

Additional Details

UW Health is moving away from using outdated file formats for Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Profiles need to be submitted in .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx file types.
