Position Overview

Salary Range:
($56,435 - $84,656)


The Port of Huntsville is actively looking for a qualified professional to fill the position of Safety Management System (SMS) Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough regulatory inspections of airport facilities.
  • Identify and assess safety hazards to ensure a secure operational environment.
  • Ensure adherence to aviation safety regulations and standards.
  • Oversee the Airport's SMS Program, with a focus on Policy, Promotion, Risk Management, and Assurance.
  • Perform site visits and hazard assessments to maintain safety protocols.
  • Coordinate construction projects to uphold operational safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in aviation management or a related discipline is preferred, along with relevant experience in airport operations or aviation safety.
