Patient Care Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our team at the University Medical Center of El Paso. As a key member of the nursing care team, you will participate in implementing select components of patient plans of care and promoting exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement patient care plans as delegated by registered nurses, charge nurses, nurse managers, and department directors
- Promote exceptional customer service to patients and their families
- Making recommendations for improved patient care and the promotion and maintenance of a safe, cost-effective healthcare environment
Requirements:
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to function effectively in a challenging environment
- Competent in tasks within the scope of practice of nursing assistant and have knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions
- Ability to use technology components, software, and/or programs to document data into electronic health records
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Salary:
$15.50 per hour
Work Environment:
This position requires working in a fast-paced hospital setting with multiple priorities and deadlines.
