PACU Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

The PACU Manager is responsible for overseeing the Pre-Op and Post Anesthesia Care (PACU) departments at Parrish Medical Center. This role involves managing operational planning, implementing growth strategies, and ensuring the achievement of departmental dashboard metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage operational planning to anticipate current and future service solutions
  • Implement growth strategies to support achievement of Parrish Healthcare Game Plan goals
  • Assure the achievement of departmental dashboard metrics within each strategic pillar (People, Service, Quality, Growth, Finances)
  • Manage departmental systems, processes, policies, and procedures to provide excellent service excellence
  • Responsible for staff scheduling, recruitment, interviews, hiring, disciplinary action, and performance evaluations
  • Participate in surgical services on-call rotation and staff in assigned departments to support the team
  • Develop budgets and monthly variances, and participate in SSAT committee meetings
  • Manage systems, processes, policies, and procedures to achieve national best-practice standards for quality and safety
  • Responsible for adherence to all Parrish Healthcare policies and procedures, as well as regulations and codes established by federal, state, and local governments
  • Lead necessary certification, accreditation, and audit procedures, and ensure reports are prepared and submitted within established timeframes
  • Manage systems, processes, policies, and procedures to achieve national best-practice standards for employee engagement
  • Maintain skills and knowledge within professional practice for self and assigned care partners

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required within a related field
  • Associate's Degree (AA or AS) in a related field with two years supervisory or management experience may be substituted for Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 years of work experience
  • Current Sigma Six Green Belt certification, or required within one (1) year of employment
  • Active/Clear State of Florida RN License required
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS through The American Heart Association required
  • CNOR Certification required within 18 months of hire date
