Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with the Maryland Nurse Practice Act and established standards of practice. The RN is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans that address the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of patients and their families. Continuous assessment of patient conditions is essential to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.
Collaboration:
The RN works collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care delivery. Maintaining clinical expertise and competency is crucial for effective patient care in alignment with current best practices. The RN also ensures a safe environment for patient care.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current RN licensure with the Maryland Board of Nursing or a Compact State.
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Emergency Services or 3-5 years in other acute care settings is preferred.
- BLS certification is required.
- ACLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- PALS and Hazmat certifications are required within one year of hire.
- Certification in Emergency Nursing is preferred.
- Completion of orientation as per organizational policies and procedures.
Unit Overview:
The Emergency Department at LifeBridge Health is designed with 17,000 square feet of advanced technology and amenities dedicated to emergency care. The facility features a spacious and welcoming waiting area, along with twenty-nine private treatment rooms that provide a comfortable environment for patients. A centralized provider station allows for effective collaboration among healthcare professionals to create personalized care plans.
Negative pressure rooms are available for the isolation of infectious diseases, including COVID-19. Additionally, the department includes a specialized treatment area for patients experiencing psychiatric or behavioral health crises. The latest CT Scanner technology is integrated within the department to facilitate early diagnosis of critical conditions such as strokes and heart attacks.
