Job Summary

Geisinger Health System is seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. You will perform computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures, acquire and analyze data needed for diagnosis, interpretation, and the performance of interventional and therapeutic procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure correct orders are obtained, patients are properly identified and prepared for exams, and clinical histories are corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
  • Utilize appropriate imaging protocols and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
  • Prepare and/or administer medications through new or existing vascular access sites as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
  • Evaluate images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verify archival storage and/or transfer of data, post-processing of data if applicable.
  • Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers.
  • Assist licensed practitioners with interventional computed tomography procedures.
  • Perform computed tomography procedures as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
Requirements
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) is required upon hire.
  • New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry or NMTCB prior to the first day of employment.
  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
