Job Title: Custodian

At Big Y, we're seeking a skilled Custodian to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you'll be responsible for ensuring our stores are clean, safe, and welcoming for our customers and employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the meat cutting area, kitchen, and bakery area.
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing tasks to prevent the spread of illness and maintain a healthy work environment.
  • Operate equipment and machinery safely and efficiently to complete tasks.
  • Restock supplies and maintain inventory levels to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve common goals and maintain a positive work environment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in janitorial or maintenance work preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
