We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our team at Independence Dental Services, a dynamic dental practice in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, particularly in pediatric dentistry, and will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our dental team while ensuring a positive experience for our patients.

About the Role
  • Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and treatments.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
  • Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
  • Manage patient records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Conduct medical imaging as required, including X-rays and other diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
  • Support front office duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, with a focus on pediatric dentistry being a plus.
