Job Summary
Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Education Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment for our young students.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing educational programs and activities that align with our curriculum and program standards.
- Prepare and maintain a well-organized learning environment, setting up interest areas and preparing materials and supplies as needed.
- Participate in all activities with the children, demonstrating a commitment to their physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Use expertise to solve problems and make informed decisions that align with early childhood best practices and licensing regulations.
- Assess and identify individual and collective learning needs, developing plans to cater to the full range of abilities in the class.
- Communicate effectively with families, team members, supervisors, and other center staff to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Supervise and support the work of Teacher Associates, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality instruction.
- Maintain and meet all educational requirements for NAEYC Accreditation Standards and Criteria, as well as licensing requirements for the Department of Children and Families-Office of Licensing.
- Stay up-to-date with Grow NJ Kids Rating System, Criteria, and Applications, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a child care setting or related field.
- Child Development Associate Certification (CDA) or Child Care Professional Certificate (CCP) in early childhood or a related field, and 2 or more years of experience working in an early childhood setting; or an Associate Degree in early childhood or a related field.
- Pediatric First Aid/CPR AED certifications and active NJCCIS registry within 30 days of hire.
