Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Technologist to join our team at Firelands Health. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pleasantly greet patients, introduce yourself, confirm patient identification, and explain procedures in a manner that is understood.
  • Utilize hospital computer systems to retrieve information, export images to appropriate destinations, review images, retrieve archived studies, verify data, perform order entry, and record information following completion of exams.
  • Prepare rooms, equipment, and imaging materials as needed for patients.
  • Prepare patients for CT procedures by having them gown appropriately as needed.
  • Perform post-processing of data, specifically multi-planar reformatting and 3D rendering on orthopedic and vascular cases.
  • Clean and disinfect CT suites, work areas, and equipment. Maintain stock supplies for assigned rooms.
  • Position patients and plan imaging studies. Adapt imaging plans per patient encounter when patients are unable to cooperate or comply.
  • Assist patients at the end of procedures, ensuring they are taken to their rooms, ED, or other units.
  • Start IVs for contrast studies. Prepare various contrast media for CT studies.
  • Check patient histories for prior studies relevant to current studies.
  • Coordinate scheduling, transportation, and scanning of patients with CT suite activities.
  • Select and operate equipment appropriately, following manufacturer and industry guidelines.
  • Observe patients and machines during procedures, reporting unusual occurrences.
  • Perform patient assessments to assist radiologists during interpretation.
  • Perform general maintenance on equipment and daily/weekly technologist QC. Report errors in test results to manufacturers.
  • Be available for emergency cases on a rotational basis.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a formal radiologic technology training program in an approved school.
  • ARRT (R) (CT) certification required. ARRT (CT) preferred. ODH license in radiography required.
  • Current certification in CPR, with bi-annual recertification.
  • Weekend, call, and holiday rotation required. Position may rotate between CT and X-Ray.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring multitasking.
  • Use proper body mechanics. Ability to push, pull, and/or lift patients from carts, wheelchairs, or other transport devices onto imaging tables/couches.
  • Comply with all Service Excellence, Quality, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • Ability to read and write small letters and numbers.
  • Ability to maintain neat and orderly files and records.
  • Ability to communicate and understand oral and written communication.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, physicians, coworkers, patients, and students.
  • Punctual attendance at assigned work locations is required.
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner, maintaining an accident-free work place, including a working knowledge of Medical Center emergency codes.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standards, utilizing proper personal protective equipment.
  • Successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
