We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance professionals, ensuring the effective utilization of maintenance resources, and supporting consistent production while minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of a 5-20 member maintenance team, ensuring optimal job performance and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate across shifts and departments to support consistent production, minimize downtime, and enforce regulatory compliance.
  • Maintenance Planning: Lead and manage diversified maintenance activities, including planned repairs, projects, and preventative maintenance.
  • Problem-Solving: Investigate and complete failure analysis on work order challenges, and implement preventive measures.
  • Project Management: Provide cost estimates, scope of work, and progress reports for new projects.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, GMPs, SOPs, SSPs, HACCP, and SQF.
  • Support and Backup: Serve as a member of the HACCP Team and provide backup support to Maintenance/Utilities Manager and Supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Three or more years' experience in Industrial Mechanics or a related position OR an Industrial Mechanics degree/equivalent technical diploma with 5 years of plant maintenance experience.
  • Leadership Experience: 1+ year in a leadership and/or project management role.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, including professional oral and written communication, a team-focused approach, and the ability to make decisions in stressful situations.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Regulatory compliance knowledge, including USDA regulations, HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety (SQF).
  • Computer Skills: Strong computerized maintenance management system knowledge.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Experience in food manufacturing facilities, especially in poultry.
  • Certification: After one year, certification from an Ammonia Refrigeration training center. After three years, achievement of operator 2 certification from an Ammonia Refrigeration training center.

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work primarily in an office environment with variations in temperature, noise, slippery floors, and moving equipment in an operational setting. Physical demands include extensive standing, sitting, lifting, climbing ladders, and wearing factory-required equipment while working in production.

Travel:

Some travel may be required (less than 5%) to assist in other facilities.
