Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technician to join our team at North Mississippi Health Services. As a Clinical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory testing and specimen processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the workflow of phlebotomists in the Specimen Processing area
  • Assure accurate and efficient transportation of lab-related supplies, equipment, and specimens
  • Follow regulatory guidelines in handling and processing laboratory specimens
  • Effectively communicate with NMHS staff, patients, and their family members
  • Provide excellent customer service and use AIDET as applicable
  • Assist with training of students and new employees
  • Participate in continuing education programs to maintain and expand skills
Requirements:
  • Associate of Arts degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician from a CAHEA/NAACLS accredited program
  • ASCP Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician, preferred within 12 months after graduation
  • Valid Mississippi Driver's License and acceptable driving record/history
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of and appropriate handling of biohazardous specimens
