Job Summary

The Department of Banking State of Texas is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Information Officer to lead the Management Information Services Division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information technology, strategic planning, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning of the Management Information Services Division
Collaborate with agency leadership to define and lead the agency in continuous digital modernization
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines for information technology
Oversee the acquisition and management of information resources
Ensure the development of security architecture and policies based on business needs, risk assessments, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, management information systems, business, or public administration
Ten years of application development and support experience
Five years of experience working with or overseeing information security processes and procedures
Three years leadership experience of a technology department or group

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS)
Experience overseeing application development using RAD tools and traditional solutions
Experience overseeing database management, specifically with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
Experience and training in analyzing, recommending, developing, and implementing cohesive enterprise solutions, policies, standards, and guidelines
