Our vision is to elevate the global economy through the internet, presenting a unique chance for you to engage in impactful work that shapes the future.

Team Overview

The Finance Engineering team plays a pivotal role at Stripe, focusing on essential financial domains such as Accounting, Finance & Strategy, and Treasury. Our engineers develop platforms, data pipelines, and financial products that support various use cases, including financial analytics, planning, and business intelligence.

Role Responsibilities

We are in search of a technical advisor capable of overseeing finance-wide engineering initiatives. This position will collaborate closely with the Head of Finance Systems to identify technical action items, address urgent technical issues, and engage with Stripe leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a Senior Staff or Principal Engineer with over 10 years of software engineering experience.
  • Possess a deep understanding of Stripe products and their implications for financial data.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with scalable data systems, including Spark, Flink, Trino, and Kafka.
  • Exhibit a hands-on approach: readiness to engage with technical details.
  • Lead technical design efforts across multiple engineering teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Communicate effectively and proactively address emerging risks or critical trade-offs.
Candidate Profile

We seek candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. If you fulfill these criteria, we encourage you to consider this opportunity. Preferred qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory.

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience, including leadership of cross-team projects.
  • Proven experience in facilitating complex discussions with senior leadership.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing solutions for large-scale data challenges.
  • Commitment to high-quality code standards.
  • Willingness to commute to the office as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in accounting, finance, and/or payment systems.

At Stripe, we value collaboration and flexibility, ensuring that our team members can engage in meaningful in-person interactions while also accommodating individual preferences.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $232,000 and $348,000. This range reflects the On Target Earnings (OTE) for the role, which includes both base salary and potential commissions or bonuses. The specific salary will be determined during the interview process based on various factors, including experience and qualifications.

Additional benefits may include equity, bonuses, a 401(k) plan, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.

At Stripe, we seek individuals who embody passion, resilience, and integrity. We encourage diverse perspectives and welcome candidates whose experiences may not align perfectly with the job description.
