We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Academic Discipline Specialist for History Education to join our team at Uncommon Schools. Job Summary
The Academic Discipline Specialist for History Education will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic experience of our middle school students. As a key member of our grade-level team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that foster a deep understanding of historical concepts and promote critical thinking skills.

Your Role
You will work closely with our experienced instructional coaches and other subject matter experts to create a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with state standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and teaching engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles
- Assessing student progress and adjusting instruction to meet their needs
- Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional growth
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement data-driven interventions
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Education, History, or a related field
- Strong content knowledge and pedagogical expertise
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to equity and social justice in education
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $64,700, commensurate with experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings, and generous paid time off.
