Job Title: Associate Head Athletic Trainer

The University of Southern Maine's Athletic Department is seeking a highly qualified Associate Head Athletic Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our athletic healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch medical care to our student-athletes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide medical care to student-athletes, including prevention, clinical evaluation, and diagnosis, immediate and emergency care, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning.
  • Collaborate with the Head Athletic Trainer, team physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for our student-athletes.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs and protocols to minimize the risk of injury to our student-athletes.
  • Conduct regular assessments of our athletic training program to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Supervise and mentor athletic training students and staff to ensure they are providing high-quality care to our student-athletes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited program.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in Athletic Training.
  • Ability to maintain preceptor role in Athletic Training Education.
  • BOC certification, State of Maine Athletic Training license, and Emergency Cardiac Care Certification.
