Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Athletic Trainer to join our team at the University of Southern Maine's Athletic Department. This is a full-time, ongoing 11-month position (August through June, July off), located primarily on the Gorham campus, with an annual salary of $58,500 plus a 10% contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Some travel is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a member of the athletic healthcare team for intercollegiate student-athletes.
  • Provide prevention, clinical evaluation, and diagnosis; immediate and emergency care, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning.
  • Support the Head Athletic Trainer in the administration of athletics healthcare as per the NCAA.
  • Collaborate with a team of four athletic trainers, two team physicians, two physical therapists, a dentist, and a mental performance coach.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited program.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in Athletic Training.
  • Ability to maintain a preceptor role in Athletic Training Education.
Licenses/Certifications
  • BOC certification.
  • State of Maine Athletic Training license.
  • Emergency Cardiac Care Certification.
  • Eligibility for American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED Instructor Certification.
