Caregiver Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Caregiver Specialist to join our team in the NW and NE Washington, DC areas.
About the RoleThis is a temporary to permanent position that requires assisting individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. The successful candidate will also be responsible for helping with mobility and physical therapy exercises as needed, ensuring proper diet and nutrition, and assisting with feeding if required.
The Caregiver Specialist will follow individualized behavior support plans to address specific needs and challenges, use positive reinforcement and behavioral techniques to manage and improve behavior, and assist with the development and maintenance of life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting.
The ideal candidate will also provide educational and recreational activities that promote personal growth and independence, ensure the cleanliness and organization of the group home environment, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of individuals' progress, incidents, and any changes in their condition.
In this role, you will advocate for the needs and preferences of individuals, ensuring their rights and choices are respected, and provide emotional support and encouragement to foster a positive and supportive environment.
Requirements- A minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Willingness and ability to provide direct care and supportive services as needed
- A valid Driver's License
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Crisis Prevention Institute Certification (preferred)
- AMAP certification (preferred)
