Job Description

Job Title: Space Associate Systems Engineer

Location: Fairfax, VA or Aurora, CO

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Space Associate Systems Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman Space Systems. As a key member of our Payload and Ground Systems organization, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the development, design, production, and sustainment of optimized product lines across the sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply technical understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering and the use of Cameo Enterprise Architecture to model systems, subsystems, components, interfaces, and verification paths.
  • Work independently and within a team to complete tasks in a timely manner and communicate effectively with varying levels of program, customer, and functional organization leadership.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including Interface Control Documents, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the team's expertise remains current and relevant.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.
  • Working knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate to team members, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation and analytical skills.
  • Eagerness/Ability to Learn new skills.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts.
  • Excellent technical writing and team building skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance and willing to submit for a polygraph at time of application.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Interface Control Document development.
  • Agile Development.
  • Atlassian Tool Suite: JIRA, Confluence, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience of agile principles using scrum framework.
  • Requirements management tools (DOORS).
  • Use Cases & Activity Flow diagrams.
  • Requirements Development, Management and Verification.
  • Block Definition Diagrams and Interface Block Diagrams.
  • Scripting or Programming.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and willing to submit to a polygraph.

What We Offer:

Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $68,000 to $86,000, depending on experience. We also offer a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
