Safety Engineer

At Amazon, we're seeking a skilled Safety Engineer - EV Systems to join our team. As an Electrical Vehicle Safety Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safe design and operation of our electric vehicle infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be to partner with our Worldwide Design Engineering teams to ensure new equipment and modifications to existing EV infrastructure equipment meet all applicable codes, regulations, and harmonized standards.
In this position, you'll lead process hazard analyses (PHAs), assist in developing and reviewing equipment designs, and provide guidance on requirements for controls and devices. Excellent communication and program management skills are essential for success in this role, as you'll need to communicate clearly and consistently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
This is a dynamic role that requires strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent written and oral communication skills. You'll have the opportunity to work collaboratively with various engineering, design, and operations teams, including Operations Engineering, Global Hydrogen Economy, Fire Life Safety, Solar Infrastructure, Reliability and Maintenance Engineering, Business Operations Leaders, Field WHS teams, and other key stakeholders.

About the team
The Global PSM team's mission is to ensure the safe design and reliable operation of facilities that contain or use Highly Hazardous Chemicals (HHCs). Our mission is to provide the necessary support so Amazon can achieve the 2040 Climate Pledge responsibly and in a manner that safeguards the safety of our associates and the community at large.
We estimate the salary for this position to be between $104,100/year and $185,000/year, depending on location and experience.
