We are currently seeking a Journeyman Electrician – Sign Electrician to oversee the installation of electrical systems within the commercial and industrial sectors at various job sites. This role includes the direct supervision and coordination of assigned helper/apprentice electricians on a project basis, while fostering excellent customer relations.
Key Responsibilities- Arrive at the project site punctually and prepared for work.
- Demonstrate a commitment to learning and enhancing electrical skills.
- Utilize fundamental electrical and construction principles to address design and modification challenges.
- Execute work in compliance with national and local codes, staying updated with the latest NEC revisions.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures throughout all tasks.
- Meet daily commitments and maintain project schedules as directed by the job-site foreman.
- Assist in various tasks including material loading, trench digging, and wire pulling to ensure project completion.
- Engage with customers and other trades personnel respectfully and professionally.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Complete necessary paperwork, including timecards, as required.
- Follow and enforce safety policies and training protocols.
- Troubleshoot common electrical systems, including services, feeders, and branch circuits.
- Plan installations to optimize material use and ensure accessibility for future maintenance.
- Create sketches or follow blueprints for wiring and equipment placement.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
- Pull wiring through conduit and splice wires as needed.
- Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
- Install control and distribution devices such as switches and circuit-breaker panels.
- Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
- Monitor installed systems for hazards and necessary adjustments.
- Repair malfunctioning equipment or systems.
- Experience with signage is essential.
- Additional duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical project installations.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Possession of necessary electricians' hand tools.
- Ability to work with hands and manage multiple tasks.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems is essential.
- A valid state motor vehicle operator's license with a clean driving record.
- Applicable state certification is required.
