Position: AN/BYG-1 Test TechnicianRole Summary:
We are currently in search of a skilled AN/BYG-1 Test Technician to join our high-visibility test team.
The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with the Navy's AN/BYG-1 Tactical Control System (TCS), contributing to the development of the Submarine Combat System for the United States Navy and Royal Australian Navy Submarine fleet. Our close-knit team is dedicated to delivering top-quality products to the Navy, playing a vital role in national security missions.
Essential Qualifications:
Experience in US Navy Submarine Fire Control or SONAR Technician roles is REQUIRED.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct subsystem and system-of-systems testing at various locations.
- Collaborate in an Agile environment with engineers to validate our deliveries.
- Evaluate software performance against system and functional requirements.
- Set up test bays and troubleshoot any anomalies.
- Communicate effectively with engineers from other subsystems to identify and resolve issues collaboratively.
- Strong background as a US Navy Submarine Fire Control Technician.
- Formal testing experience in a DoD production environment.
- Proven ability to work proactively with both local and remote test teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in testing within an Agile development framework.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Familiarity with requirements management and system modeling tools.
- Solid understanding of test engineering principles and concepts.
- Experience within the SWFTS submarine community.
- Strong communication skills with peers and management.
- Adept at recognizing critical information and articulating issues and alternatives clearly.
- Emphasis on automating routine testing processes while leveraging expertise to tackle complex challenges.
Note: This position requires full on-site presence. Candidates must possess a Department of Defense Secret security clearance or higher at the time of hire. Selected applicants will undergo a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of work performed.
