About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Land Surveyor to join our team at NextEra Energy, Inc. As a key member of our land surveying department, you will play a vital role in overseeing and managing various land surveying projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Prepare and manage land surveying project reports and products, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Field Surveys: Lead and conduct field surveys, including topographic, boundary, construction staking, and other permitting functions, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research in survey archives and offices as needed to obtain information about property boundaries, and interpret legal documents and contracts for land surveying.
  • Team Leadership: Provide consultation, direction, and guidance to junior staff and management on matters related to land surveying, and maintain professional licenses and stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Accountable for the accuracy, timeliness, and legal compliance of all survey activities conducted.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certification: Professional Land survey certification.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in land surveying.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's degree.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in land surveying.
