Job Description

This is a Nursing Supervisor position available in the Coronary Care Subacute department at the University of New Mexico Hospitals. The selected candidate will be responsible for supervising nursing and technician staff, providing clinical leadership, and ensuring adequate staffing to meet patient census.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign nursing personnel and staff to specific patients using independent judgment
  • Designate shift and schedule assignments, and delegate duties according to departmental policies
  • Supervise and direct staff providing patient care, and ensure accountability for care provided
  • Act as liaison between physicians, staff, patients, families, and other departments to promote communication and problem-solving
  • Develop an efficient organizational structure, supervise employees, and encourage teamwork and growth initiatives

Requirements:

  • 2 years directly related experience as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico or a state with reciprocal agreement
  • CPR certification for Healthcare/BLS Providers within 30 days of hire
  • RN license in New Mexico

Physical Demands:

The selected candidate must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical demands are in excess of those for medium work.

Working Conditions:

The selected candidate will be subject to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, and require personal protective equipment (PPE). They will also be subject to an annual contract and performance appraisal.

Salary Information

We estimate the salary range for this position to be around $83,000 - $113,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
