Position Overview

The role necessitates a comprehensive
knowledge of adhesive formulations, bonding techniques, and surface treatment, alongside a grasp of material and process specifications pertinent to aviation applications and relevant FAA certification standards.

Experience collaborating with an ODA or directly with the FAA is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proven track record in the development, validation, and
    certification of adhesives for
    aircraft components, encompassing both structural and non-structural applications
  • Skilled in drafting and maintaining specifications and processing guidelines for materials used in aircraft interiors
  • Expertise in analytical tools (FTIR, TGA, DSC, DMA) for adhesive characterization, with the ability to analyze and interpret test results
  • Adept at
    addressing adhesive-related challenges promptly
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with suppliers for new adhesive innovations
  • Extensive knowledge of adhesives, sealants, and tapes utilized in aircraft interior applications

Familiarity with CMH-17 protocols and capable of conducting statistical analyses of testing data to produce design allowances for aircraft interior materials.

  • Excellent communication skills, both in technical writing and comprehension
A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to effectively perform the essential functions of the position.
