Job Title: Nurse

Beaumont Independent is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse to join our team. As a School Health Professional, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our students.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide temporary and emergency care for sick and injured students or staff according to district policy and procedures.
  • Administer medications to students according to district policy and procedures.
  • Assist with health assessments and perform screening procedures as required by Texas Department of Health, Texas Educational Agency, and district policy.
  • Develop and coordinate continuing evaluation of campus health program and make changes based on findings.
  • Provide health education to individuals and groups, and serve as a resource person in promoting health careers.
  • Participate in assessment and reporting of suspected child abuse, and communicate regularly with principal and health services supervisor regarding health services issues.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program.
  • Valid registered nurse license to practice professional nursing in Texas from the State Board of Nurse Examiners.
  • Certified by Texas Department of Health to conduct vision, hearing, and spinal screening.
  • CPR and First-aid certification.
  • Two years experience in school, community health, or pediatric nursing preferred.
Working Conditions:

Maintain emotional control under stress, work with frequent interruptions, and walk/stand for long periods of time. May work prolonged or irregular hours, and be exposed to bacteria and communicable diseases.
