Job Description

At EHRA Engineering, we are seeking a skilled CAD Technician I to join our team. As a CAD Technician I, you will play a crucial role in providing non-technical drafting support to our engineers by preparing layouts, plans, and profiles, and detail drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D software to prepare layouts, plans, and profiles, and detail drawings.
  • Develop a solid understanding of drafting techniques and possess mechanical aptitude with the ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.
  • Process basic verbal instructions from lead designers, EITs, PMs, or CAD technicians.
  • Create cover sheets, HCERs, notes, and details for all projects.
  • Prepare sheet sets per project and print construction plans.
  • Add fields and links to drawings.
  • Prepare alignments and print construction plans.
  • Address red line drawings and mark-ups.
  • Follow company-specific CAD standards for drawing setup, scaling, labeling, and dimensioning.
  • Label plan and profile sheets and layouts with live labeling.
  • Attend Land Services Grub and Grows meetings.
  • Create CAD drawings for site and land development, water and wastewater plants, utility districts, public works, transportation, and municipal departments.
  • Create plan and profile sheets and exhibits.
  • Create and modify map exhibits for special assignments.
  • Work with project teams to execute projects on time and on budget.
  • Make corrections to drawings as requested by senior staff.
  • Set up and maintain an organized file system for production drawings.
Requirements
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.
  • Skilled in PC usage and associated software.
  • Able to generate layout drawings from sketches and specifications.
  • Knowledgeable of standard drafting practices and procedures.
Work Environment

The work is performed in a professional office environment.

Education, Certification, and Experience
  • Must have a strong understanding of AutoCAD (0-1 years).
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
