Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in a correctional facility in Sevierville, TN. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide general and emergency nursing care to inmates in the Medical and Ambulatory section of the correctional facility.
- Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Collaborate with RNs and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
- Participate in infection control activities and adhere to facility policies and procedures.
- Possess a current Practical Nursing License in the applicable state.
- Minimum of one year experience in corrections preferred.
- Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
- Participate in Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
- Current CPR certification if applicable.
- TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and clients.
