Job Summary

Catholic Health Initiatives is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Emergency Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions, including emergency room consults, triage, and medical care.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
  • Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories, using your expertise and knowledge to inform your diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, providing clear and concise medical information and fostering a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans in accordance with coding and billing regulations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging, and perform procedures as needed, collaborating with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.
  • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to provide consultative services and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, reviewing and analyzing clinical outcomes for continuous improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Masters or Doctorate program.
  • Emergency Room or Inpatient experience of 1 year or more, required.
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Hospital Medicine.
  • ACLS, PALS, and ATLS or CALS certification.
  • Qualification to successfully obtain an unrestricted Minnesota practice license and DEA.
  • Interest in a shift-based condensed work schedule, with ten 24-hour shifts per month considered full-time.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and be flexible and adaptable to changing patient demographics and needs.
