Prep Cook

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Prep Cook to join our team at I.K. Hofmann. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food for service, setting up and stocking stations, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

• Prepare food for service, including chopping vegetables, slicing, and preparing sauces
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
• Cook buffet items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Answer, report, and follow executive or sous chef's instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Familiar with industry's best practices
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to multi-task as well as stay on task and concentrate with constant interruptions
• Prioritize and delegate tasks in a timely manner
• Maintain a positive attitude under pressure and motivate team
• Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling principles
• Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
• Ability to work as a member of a team whose goal is to make all customers' experiences enjoyable

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Equivalent professional experience

Line Cook/Prep Cook pay range: $23.54-$24 per hour

• Must be able to remain standing for 50% of the time
• The person in this position will be required to move about the kitchen area from station to station
• Must be able to distinguish between flavors when creating dishes
