About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Prep Cook to join our team at JFK Airport. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality food for our clients and their passengers.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service, including chopping vegetables, slicing, and preparing sauces
  • Cook buffet items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer and follow executive or sous chef's instructions
  • Clean up station and manage leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure food is served simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Requirements
  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry's best practices
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task and stay focused under pressure
  • Prioritize and delegate tasks in a timely manner
  • Maintain a positive attitude under pressure and motivate team
  • Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling principles
  • Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
  • Ability to work as a member of a team focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Equivalent professional experience
  • Degree in Culinary Arts (desired)
Compensation and Benefits

Competitive pay rate: $23.54-$24 per hour
