Position Type: Part-time Evening Shift
Key Responsibilities:
The Practical Nursing Specialist will be tasked with delivering comprehensive nursing care while ensuring effective communication of relevant information to the appropriate personnel. Additionally, the Practical Nursing Specialist will maintain and update electronic medical records, ensuring their confidentiality and security. Other duties include:
1. Keeping precise records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in compliance with applicable regulations.
2. Conducting sick calls for patients and administering treatment for illnesses and injuries as per established protocols approved by the Medical Director.
3. Observing, documenting, and reporting symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmates/patients, and contributing to the development of care plans.
4. Recording, retrieving, and organizing medical information in the inmate/patient medical records.
This position includes a comprehensive two-week orientation period, providing on-the-job training and shadowing opportunities with experienced nursing staff.
