Project Overview

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). The mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

As a Senior Manager for ASIC Technical Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the definition and delivery of Kuiper ASIC products that meet customer needs in various segments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of ASIC Technical Program Managers and be responsible for successful deliveries.
  • Be responsible for the ASIC TPM team's development and growth.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, hardware, software engineering teams to develop product strategy, long-term roadmap, business and production requirements, and features for ASICs that meet cost, performance, reliability, and customer experience needs.
  • Project management of development and delivery in collaboration with cross-functional project teams.
  • Collaborate with development and supply chain leadership to identify third-party partners.
  • Collaborate with engineering leaders (SOC/ASIC leads) to create project execution plans for ASIC/FPGA development considering all criteria to design products that meet the power/performance and functional specs for all use conditions.
  • Drive best Program Management practices for the team and organization at large.
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
  • Work with product/program management leads to ensure that the ASIC development meets schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Drive engineering project execution, make technical trade-off recommendations, understand the technical challenges, enable solutions, track, and report on status, and resolve blocking issues.
  • Collaborate with architecture, hardware, software, firmware, packaging, and PCB teams on ensuring cross-functional deliverables are identified and tracked.
  • Work with external IP and silicon vendors and partners to complete the execution of projects in time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in EE/CSE or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years managing a team of Technical Program Managers.
  • 7+ years of Technical Program Management experience leading cross-functional programs with aggressive schedules.
  • 5+ years of ASIC/SOC design and/or management experience.
  • 5+ years of project/program management and experience with schedule tracking tools such as MS Project, SmartSheet, and Jira.

About the Team

In this role, you and your team will collaborate with various teams (e.g., ASIC, antenna, firmware, software, electrical engineering, test, supply chain, etc.) to develop program plans and execute against the plans to ensure that the ASICs meet schedule, cost, and quality requirements.

This role communicates with clarity on the development status, inter-dependencies, and the next steps across a significant number of stakeholders and partnering teams.

You will navigate through ambiguity and manage project delivery in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Because Kuiper is inventing new technologies for our customers, we understand that working through ambiguity is a part of our workdays.

This role requires leveraging industry knowledge, exercising good engineering judgment, and joining a highly motivated and working hard to deliver Kuiper service to our customers.
