Quality Control Technician

Job Summary
The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for executing in-process product inspection on the production line as needed. This individual will alert production associates of failed inspections and train them on requirements to produce quality products. The technician will conduct receiving inspections, measure parts for conformance, and perform other duties within the quality assurance lab to ensure the quality of the facility.
This role will work in an ISO 9001:2015 certified environment and adhere to company policies and procedures, including engineering codes and product standards. The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist will report directly to the Senior Quality Engineer or Lab Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting in-process production inspections and collecting data on failing inspections
- Training associates on proper product requirements when products fail inspection
- Communicating and alerting associates of product quality issues on the line and escalating when necessary
- Documenting rejected material and working with engineering, supplier quality engineer, and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues
- Generating quality alerts, modifying work instructions, and training other associates as required
- Proficiently using standard inspection gages and automated/manual optical measuring equipment
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- 5-8 years of quality technician and manufacturing experience
- Problem-solving skills, including 8D, 5-Why, Pareto Charts, etc.
- Experience using advanced quality tools in a manufacturing environment, including PPAPs, FAIs, FMEAs, Control Plans, GR&R, Capability Studies, and Product/Process Validation
- Knowledge and understanding of ANSI AQL sampling criteria and ISO 9000, as well as experience with measuring tools and devices
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office and SAP
- Strong listening and communication skills, including written, oral, and presentation skills, with meeting facilitation skills
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
- Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding
- Willingness to take on responsibilities and new challenges as they arise
