About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our team of experienced professionals who are dedicated to providing exceptional service to our customers. Your primary responsibility will be to operate a boom truck safely and efficiently, delivering heavy equipment and materials to job sites across the region.

As a Heavy Equipment Operator – Boom Truck Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Touching freight and lifting, pushing, or moving product weighing 75+ pounds;
  • Pre-inspecting trucks, loading materials, and verifying accuracy of loads;
  • Setting up job parameters and inspecting sites to ensure a safe environment for unloading;
  • Unloading trucks at sites, involving setting up barriers, occasional lifting of heavy shingles, and using a truck-mounted crane;
  • Demonstrating a daily commitment to safety and adhering diligently to all safety protocols while wearing appropriate PPE;
  • Maintaining regular communication with dispatchers to ensure timely delivery of products;
  • Reporting any potential hazards to branch management.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A valid Class A/B CDL license in good standing with 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience;
  • NCCCO & Crane Institute Certification – willing to train;
  • Experience operating a knuckle boom crane truck or similar equipment;
  • Preferred experience driving a manual transmission truck and operating heavy equipment for unloading;
  • In-depth knowledge of crane operations, rigging techniques, and relevant safety regulations;
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions;
  • Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment.
