About the Position

The Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media at George Mason University is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to work on research projects in collaboration with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA). The successful candidate will contribute to the agency's mission to provide the fullest possible accounting for the nation's missing personnel from past conflicts abroad.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the DPAA to identify and complete research projects that support the agency's mission.
  • Produce high-quality website content, blog posts, and other teaching materials as assigned.
Requirements
  • Terminal degree in a related field.
  • Ph.D. must be completed by the first day of employment.
  • Prior experience working on digital history products.
  • Strong attention to detail and fact-checking skills.
  • Experience with digital tools and methodologies.
  • Effective writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in modern military history or adjacent fields.
  • Archival and field research experience.
  • Experience working collaboratively.
  • Experience working with a variety of stakeholders.
