Postdoctoral Researcher, DPAA

The Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media at George Mason University is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to work on research projects in collaboration with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA). The successful candidate will assist the DPAA's mission to provide the fullest possible accounting for the nation's missing personnel from past conflicts abroad.

• Collaborate with the DPAA to identify and complete research projects;
• Develop and produce high-quality digital content, including website content, blog posts, and teaching materials;
• Work effectively on deadline and demonstrate strong attention to detail and fact-checking skills;
• Utilize digital tools and methodologies to support research and content creation;
• Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Terminal degree in a related field;
• Ph.D. completed by the first day of employment;
• Prior experience working on digital history products;
• Strong writing and communication skills;
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines;
• Experience working with digital tools and methodologies;
• Effective collaboration and communication skills.

• Background in modern military history or adjacent fields;
• Archival and field research experience;
• Experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
