Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Travel RN with prior experience in Med Surg. This unit is responsible for providing general acute care and monitoring for a diverse group of medical, surgical, and cardiac patients. The role may also involve telemetric monitoring of patients.
Key duties include:
- Coordinating comprehensive nursing care for patients.
- Participating in patient and family education.
- Providing leadership by collaborating with ancillary nursing and other healthcare team members.
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
- Delivering direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients.
- Administering and documenting prescribed medications.
- Performing procedures such as changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
- Monitoring patients' vital signs and reporting any adverse reactions to medications promptly.
- Collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team.
- Educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-operative care.
- Maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records.
- Adhering to best practices and standards in nursing.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum Degree Required: Associate's Degree (Community College, MBO).
- Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a Board Approved Program.
- Licensure: Current RN License issued by the Texas State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
