We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Specialist to join our interdisciplinary team at the University of California, San Francisco. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biology, bioengineering, biochemistry, computer science, or related disciplines.
About the PositionThe Specialist will be responsible for conducting research in the Tward lab, focusing on the molecular events that reprogram a normal cell into a pre-cancerous cell and ultimately to a cancer cell. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with one or more of the following: animal handling, microscopy, molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, instrumentation, genome editing/CRISPR technology, and quantitative and computational analysis.
Responsibilities- Conduct research in the Tward lab, focusing on the molecular events that reprogram a normal cell into a pre-cancerous cell and ultimately to a cancer cell.
- Develop and implement new research techniques and methods to advance the lab's research goals.
- Collaborate with other researchers and scientists to share knowledge and expertise.
- Present research findings at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
- PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
- Strong background in biology, bioengineering, biochemistry, computer science, or related disciplines.
- Experience with animal handling, microscopy, molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, instrumentation, genome editing/CRISPR technology, and quantitative and computational analysis.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
