Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, the Stores Clerk plays a vital role in managing the procurement, receipt, and distribution of food and related supplies. This position is essential for maintaining the organization and rotation of items within patient nourishment areas while ensuring compliance with HACCP standards. The role embodies the core values and philosophies of Parrish Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procures, receives, and organizes supplies in various storage areas, including dry storage, coolers, and freezers, adhering to established procedures and FIFO principles. Monitors temperature levels in storage units and verifies delivery accuracy against invoices while following HACCP protocols.
- Conducts regular inventory assessments to determine stock levels and ensures adequate ordering of food and supplies.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of all storage spaces, including walk-ins and patient pantry refrigerators.
- Oversees and replenishes patient nourishment areas, staff lounges, and other designated locations. Manages the fulfillment of stock requisitions for various departments and coordinates deliveries for offsite locations.
- Collaborates with the Chef and management to review menu requirements and places orders as necessary through various communication methods.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with vendors and delivery personnel.
- Supports team members and seeks assistance when needed, contributing to the efficient operation of the department.
- Communicates effectively with colleagues to ensure successful task completion and checks in with management before breaks and end of shifts.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
- Familiarizes with fire, disaster, and safety protocols relevant to the work environment.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Valid and current State of Florida Driver's License.
