About the Role
This exciting opportunity is with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works. As an Associate Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing public works projects, including roads, highways, bridges, and water treatment facilities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Applying principles and practices of civil engineering to design and develop public works projects
- Preparing and reviewing contracts and specifications for major engineering projects
- Serving as a resident engineer during construction and assigning tasks to subordinates
- Designing public works projects or supervising project engineers and squad leaders
- Reviewing plans submitted by outside engineers for conformity to code and structural integrity
