Position Overview: Your primary duties will include accurately filling prescriptions and preparing compliance packaging. Additional responsibilities will involve maintaining pharmacy operations and delivering medications to various off-site locations as required throughout the week.
Core Responsibilities:
- Accurately fills prescriptions and prepares compliance packaging (bubble packs).
- Provides assistance to WCS staff and clients visiting the pharmacy.
- Delivers medications to designated locations as needed.
- Regularly checks and responds to emails.
- Handles incoming phone inquiries.
- Manages the return of stock medications.
- Conducts routine checks for expired medications.
- Completes all daily and weekly tasks essential for pharmacy operations.
- Supports the Medication Coordinating Pharmacy Technician with their responsibilities as required.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma or GED is required. Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is essential. Pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) is preferred.
Performance Expectations: The successful candidate must be adept at multitasking and excel in a dynamic and occasionally demanding environment. Exceptional customer service skills are a must.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Familiarity with Medicaid/Medicare and compliance regulations is advantageous. The ability to learn and navigate pharmacy software, such as Speed Script, is necessary. Understanding the pharmacy's policies and procedures, along with adaptability to new protocols, is crucial. Strong troubleshooting skills are also required.
Work Environment: The role involves daily interactions within the pharmacy setting, necessitating effective collaboration with all WCS staff to support consumers during challenging times related to their diagnoses.
Physical Requirements: Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods and perform tasks in front of a computer as needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to fulfill essential functions.
