About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Journeyman to join our team at Carrier. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our customers, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions in heating and cooling systems
  • Perform regular maintenance on heating and cooling units to ensure optimal performance
  • Install, replace, or repair equipment, including thermostatic controls, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning parts, and low- and high-pressure liquid lines
  • Assemble and install metal ductwork
  • Assist in planning and designing new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems
  • Provide estimates of materials required
  • Repair and replace damaged parts and equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams
  • Read and interpret City, State, and EPA regulations
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and their representatives
  • Safely operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment
  • Recognize risks and safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations and implement appropriate controls to ensure safe work
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical working experience in the HVAC industry
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to stand, crawl, sit, squat for extended periods of time
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Possess and maintain a valid and current Driver's License and be insurable by the company's insurance carrier
  • Must be a current union member or willing to join a union
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of building automation controls
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience using Salesforce and ServiceMax is a plus
