About This Role

Carrier is seeking a skilled Journeyman to join our team as a Commercial HVAC Service Technician. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our customers by providing expert and quality service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions in heating and cooling systems
  • Perform regular maintenance on heating and cooling units to ensure optimal performance
  • Install, replace, and repair equipment, including thermostatic controls, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning parts, and low- and high-pressure liquid lines
  • Assemble and install metal ductwork
  • Assist in planning and designing new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems
  • Provide estimates of materials required for projects
  • Repair and replace damaged parts and equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams
  • Read and interpret City, State, and EPA regulations
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and their representatives
  • Safely operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment
  • Recognize and mitigate risks and safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical working experience in the HVAC industry
  • Passing examination regarding the abilities and know-how of Building Trades Journeyman, conducted by an Examining Board
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to stand, crawl, sit, squat for extended periods of time
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid and current Driver's License and be insurable by the company's insurance carrier
  • Current union membership or willingness to join a union
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of building automation controls
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience using Salesforce and ServiceMax
