Comprehensive Nurse Residency Program

We are seeking new graduate nurses to participate in a comprehensive 12-month Nurse Residency Program at Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington.

This transition-to-practice program offers an interactive, evidence-based curriculum designed to build clinical skills and competency in patient outcomes, leadership, and the professional nurse role. The program reflects the Mission, Vision, and Values of PeaceHealth.

The program provides opportunities to work on various units, including Med/Surg, Emergency, Cardiology, ICU, ICU step-down, or Float Pool.

Salary and Benefits

The hourly compensation range is $37.83 - $73.90, with hiring rate dependent on qualifications and professional experience. In addition to competitive pay, we offer:

Requirements

To qualify for this program, you must be:

  • A new graduate RN (or upcoming graduate) or a RN who has been licensed for less than 12 months with less than 6 months of Acute Care experience as a RN.
Program Timeline / Step-by-Step Process

New grads must have an active RN license by date of hire. Start dates are determined by looking at several factors including NCLEX, licensing, relocation, and department needs.

Position Commitments

You must be able to:

  • Work 32 to 40 hours per week.
  • Be available to work 8, 10, or 12-Hour Shifts.
  • Be available to work Day, Eve, and Night Shifts.
  • Be flexible to work any day of the week as schedules rotate.
  • Participate in all program activities throughout the 12-month period.
  • Provide clinical instructor and employment references.
  • Sign a 2-year commitment letter (select units).
  • Remain in the department they are hired into for the 1st 18 months of employment per the WSNA Union contract.
