Acquisition Engineering Manager

The Leidos Intelligence Group is seeking a seasoned Acquisition Engineering Manager to lead our efforts in the National Capital Region. This critical role provides direct support to the government Program Manager of a major acquisition program with significant implications for National Security.
A successful candidate will be a confident self-starter, capable of adapting to flexible tasking and priorities. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, facilitating seamless interactions with executive-level customers and development contractor/system integrator personnel regarding matters of utmost importance to the project.
This position serves as the program's foremost subject matter expert within system production and sustainment domain areas, overseeing contract execution (cost, schedule, performance) of major Ops and Sustainment contracts. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical evaluation and cost assessment for Task Orders and contract modification proposals and their related negotiations
- Writing Statements of Work (SOWs) and Statements of Objectives (SOOs) for contract modifications and task orders
- Identifying creative solutions for resource realignment and management reserve usage
- Offering POM inputs and recommendations to address funding issues
Required Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should have at least 10 years of DoD Program Manager/Systems Engineering acquisition experience, with a stronger emphasis on the PM aspect. A background working with major weapon systems in the Production or Ops & Sustainment phases is also essential. Additionally, they must have experience working with a government program office in a SETA-type role. A BA from an accredited university is required.
Desired Qualifications:
Candidates with 15+ years of DoD PM/SE acquisition experience, preferably in senior positions like Material Leader, are highly desirable. Possession of a PM certification (PMI, DoD, etc.) is also beneficial. An advanced degree (MA in Project or Engineering Management, Operations Research, Industrial or Production Engineering, or comparable) can be advantageous.
Clearance and Work Environment:
The successful candidate must have an active TS//SCI clearance and be willing to undergo a CI polygraph examination. The work environment involves split locations between Leidos offices in NoVa and customer locations in DC, with potential for up to 25% travel.
Payout Range:
This exciting opportunity comes with a competitive salary range of $126,100.00 - $227,950.00, aligned with market data and internal equity considerations.
