Laboratory Supervisor Embryology

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Supervisor Embryology to oversee the daily operations of the Andrology and Endocrine lab. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the lab's quality control and quality assurance processes are in place, as well as maintaining optimal environments for the safe handling and testing of reproductive specimens.

• Oversee the daily operations of the Andrology and Endocrine lab, ensuring quality control and quality assurance processes are in place.
• Maintain optimal environments for the safe handling and testing of reproductive specimens.
• Perform andrology procedures such as sperm cryopreservation and thawing, sperm vitality testing, retrograde sperm preparation.
• Perform daily assays for serum hormone determinations and daily semen testing & processing for therapeutic intrauterine insemination.
• Complete patient reports & enter data into electronic medical record and clinical filing system.
• Maintain log of patient results to ensure correct patient accessioning.
• Maintain lab patient & billing databases and sperm tank inventory.
• Document all corrective actions when test systems deviate from the lab's established performance specifications & notify the Lab Director.
• Participate in lab coverage on a weekend and holiday rotation.
• Perform proficiency testing in the same manner as patient's specimens for both the andrology & endocrine labs.

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Chemical, Physical or Biological Science.
• NYS Department of Education Clinical Licensed Technologist (CLT) certification required within 3 years of being employed.
• General knowledge of operation of web-based QC platforms, electronic medical records, and document control platforms.
• Rigorous QA and QC regarding handling of specimens and extreme care and caution in labeling and handling specimens.
